Monthly Round Up

September Round Up

Our quietest month of the year so far saw the kids return to school and us settle back in to a routine of work, school, homework, swimming and all the other bits and pieces normal life brings. Here is our September Round Up.

Our adventures were few and far between, but our first one took us to London.

We were invited to Shrek’s Adventure in London to check out the Dreamworks 4D experience. I must say, the kids really enjoyed it and it was a bit different to our normal Sunday routines. We had a wander around London and went to see if Her Royal Highness was home for a cup of tea. Sadly, she wasn’t up for visitors! We had a pleasant day and took the train, which again, was out of the ordinary for us.

An invitation to Inflata Nation in Birmingham this week saw the kids bouncing around and getting super hot and sweaty. The indoor inflatable theme park was just the ticket for the kids to release some energy after their first week back at school. I really enjoyed myself and will take the kids back again at some point. A great way to get some exercise on a rainy day.

As the kids are all riding their bikes confidently, we took them to Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve to test them out on different terrain. They did fantastic! Molly could do with a new bike with better grip, but other than that we conquered 6 miles on the National Cycle Route 5. I was very proud of our accomplishment. Finley is the quietest he has ever been when he is riding, and if you know Finley, that is unheard of! I’ll take him out more often!

Today is National GetOutside Day, brought to the world by Ordnance Survey. We took part last year and was very excited to #GetOutside again this year. We arranged a #HikerKidz meet up in Millers Dale and had a good old stomp in the rain. It absolutely poured it down but we had fun meeting new friends and joining in with a nationwide event. If you would like to join us for one of our Hikerkidz events, please sign up to the emails or like us on Facebook for first access to information!

**Sneak insider info- the next meet up will be the 29th of December!

How did your September go? We are looking forward to the change in seasons and as the colder weather comes in, we will be outside more! We have a few new hikes planned in the upcoming weeks, so keep a look out for Octobers adventures!
